Taking forward Europe’s priority energy infrastructure projects

12 April 2019. Greenlink at the PCI Energy Days, Brussels

We were delighted to take part in the recent PCI Energy Days hosted by the European Commission in Brussels on 19th and 20th March.  The event was dedicated to the practical implementation of the European Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) – key cross-border infrastructure projects that help achieve vital energy policy and climate objectives: affordable, secure and sustainable energy for all citizens, and the long-term decarbonisation of the economy.

Showcasing Greenlink at the exhibition, we had an excellent opportunity to speak with a wide variety of people and discuss the good progress we are making on the project, the technological solutions we are offering and our process of engagement with stakeholders in Ireland and the UK.

The policy conferences running alongside the exhibition dealt with the most pressing issues of project implementation and our Project Director, Simon Ludlam, took part in the panel ‘How to Ensure Security of Supply’, chaired by Stefan Moser of DG Energy. The lively discussion covered the importance of diversification and interconnection for energy security and touched on undersea cable technology and the potential use of Blockchain for tracking green energy.

Our thanks go to INEA and the European Commission for a highly successful event.
