Greenlink awarded €4.8m in EU funding

26 October 2018. Greenlink Interconnector Limited’s application for a grant under the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility has been successful, with the award of €4.8 million in funds.  Greenlink was selected for a grant in the field of trans-European energy infrastructure under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF Energy): https://ec.europa.eu/inea/en/connecting-europe-facility/cef-energy/calls/2018-cef-energy-calls-proposals/2018-1-call-proposals

The grant will help fund immediate development activities for the project, in particular marine surveys in the Irish Sea, which began in September.  The EU funding is a vote of confidence that will help drive forward this Project of Common Interest, one of Europe’s most important energy infrastructure projects, and help realise the significant energy security, decarbonisation and consumer benefits for Ireland and the UK.
